ANARCHY

A 2004 remake of the classic ZX Spectrum / C64 game, rebuilt for the browser and Windows.

Blast every crate and pyramid, dodge the baddies, then race your tank to the exit teleporter before the clock runs out. Sixteen hand-built levels, a thumping tracker soundtrack, and a high-score table to beat.

How to play

• Destroy every crate and pyramid on the level to open the exit.
• Reach the flashing exit teleporter before time runs out. Spare seconds turn into bonus points.
• Baddies kill on touch. Floating ones can be frozen with a shot and then pushed around; tanks can only be stunned.
• Teleporter blocks are strange: shoot one and it jumps away, blowing up a random wall where it lands. Some levels depend on it.
• Extra life every 50,000 points.

About this version

Anarchy was written by me (Andrew Pointon, TCKSoft) in Blitz3D back in 2004. This release is a faithful port of that source to modern platforms, with the old bugs fixed (pause and timer handling, high-score entry, explosion positions, input and audio glitches) and the level data left exactly as it was.

If you want the 2004 teleporter behaviour rather than the default, the Windows build accepts --tele=scan; see the readme.

Notes

• High scores are saved on your machine (browser storage for the web version).
• Music starts after your first click or key press, as browsers require.
